Most people never need a paid plan. Pick by how often you work with PDFs and whether other people or other systems are involved.

What the free plan includes
The free plan is the full product for everyday use, not a trial:
- Fill any PDF, add a drawn or typed signature, and download the finished file. Nothing is uploaded.
- Every template (rent receipt, invoice, lease, NDA, W-9 and the rest) and every official form in the library.
- The organizing tools: merge, split, rotate, delete pages, reorder, images to PDF and PDF to images, all in the browser with no daily cap.
- Server-side conversions (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, Excel and PowerPoint) a few times a day, on files up to 25 MB.
- Compression on files up to 40 MB.
- One active guided pack for collecting a completed form and documents from a client.
- A test API key with 100 requests per day.
Exports on the free plan carry a small Made with fillable.ca footer. That is the trade: free and private, with a credit line.
What changes when you upgrade
- No footer. Pro, Team and API exports are clean.
- Conversions and file size. The daily cap on server-side conversions is removed and larger files are accepted.
- OCR. Scanned PDFs get a real text layer so they can be searched, converted and edited.
- Saved forms. Start a long form, save it to your account, and finish it on another day or another device.
- Guided packs. Unlimited active packs instead of one.
- Team only: shared templates, several seats, more than one signer per document, and exports with your branding.
- API only: production request volume for the fill and parse endpoints.
How billing works
- Plans are monthly, priced in USD, and charged by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month until you cancel.
- Cancel from the billing portal in your account. Access continues to the end of the paid period, then the plan ends.
- Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Use the free plan to test first.
- Full terms are in the terms of service; file handling is in the privacy policy.
Privacy on every plan
The core tools (fill, sign, merge, organize, images, OCR) run in your browser, so the file never leaves your device on any plan. Server-side converters upload the file to convert it and delete it right after. The API processes PDFs in memory and keeps only a request count. Paid plans change limits and features, not how your files are handled.

Is fillable.ca really free?
Yes. Filling, creating, signing and organizing everyday PDFs is free with no account. Paid plans add unlimited conversions, OCR, saved forms, no export footer, and the API.
Do I need an account to use the free tools?
No. The in-browser tools and every template work without signing up. An account is needed for a paid plan, for saved forms, and to see your API keys in one place.
What does a few conversions per day mean?
The server-side converters (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, Excel, PowerPoint) are rate limited on the free plan, and free conversions accept files up to 25 MB (40 MB for compression). Pro removes the daily cap and raises the size limit. In-browser tools like merge, split, rotate and fill have no daily cap.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription from the Stripe billing portal in your account. Paid access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and the subscription does not renew after that.
Do you offer refunds?
Except where the law requires it, payments are non-refundable. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. The free plan is there so you can test everything before paying.
Do you store my files?
The in-browser tools never upload your files. Server-side conversions upload the file only to convert it, then delete it. Guided packs store the documents you choose to collect, and you can delete them anytime. The API processes PDFs in memory and stores nothing.
Which plan do I need for the API?
Start with a free test key: 100 requests per day. The API plan is for production volume. See the developer docs for endpoints and limits.
What is the difference between Pro and Team?
Pro is one person. Team adds shared templates, seats for several people, multiple signers on one document, and branded exports. If two or more people at your business will use it, Team is the right plan.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in USD.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from the billing portal. Stripe prorates the difference on the next invoice.
